A study has been made at the University of Oulu (Juhani Itämies,
Kalevi Kuusela. Esteri Ohenoja, Jouko Siira) 1994 The results are t
only available in Finnish, here is a short abstract concerning
endangered (E), vulnerable (V), and care-demanding (S) birdlife.
The classification gives first the national, then the local status.
The endangered, vulnerable or care-demanding species nesting in the area are:
- Aythya marila V/E
- Falco peregrinus V/V
- Gavia arctica S/S
- Falco columbarius S/S
- Falco subbuteo S/S
- Falco tinnunculus S/S
- Dendrocopos minor S/S
- Melanitta fusca /V
The endangered, vulnerable or care-demanding species feeding in
the area are:
- Aquila chrysaetos V/V
- Gavia stellata S/S
- Pendion haliaetus S/S
