The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto, SLL) is the largest non-governmental organization for environmental protection and nature conservation in Finland.

In order to pursue its objectives, SLL

Big part of the work is done on voluntary basis but SLL also employs over 30 people working in the headquarters, regional offices and in the Suomen Luonto periodical. The SLL has about 30.000 individual members in 209 local associations, organized in 15 regional districts. The Nature League (Luonto-Liitto) functions as a nation-wide youth organisation under SLL, it has about 4 000 members.
